school pictures
September 22, 2011School pictures have come such a long way.
I remember one year way in my past practicing my smile for weeks so that it would be just perfect for that one quick “shot” that would forever after tell people what I looked like at a certain age – kinda cruel in the middle school years (or as me and my sister’s sometimes call them, our ugly years) of a gal’s life.
True confession, I onetime purposely sent my pen pal an old school picture because I thought looked so much prettier in that one than the updated one. (Is that really what I looked like? *insert shudder* At least my mom loved me!) Man, I’m glad I don’t have to go back the stress of all that
Anyhow, it’s so fun to be able to take school pictures for other people now, and let them have choices! And I just love choices…..maybe I do want to go back in time and do a few re-takes….either that or burn a few choice photographs
we’re all in this together

My boys love to bake, or should I say eat.
Sunny loves to be with her mama.
Add it all up, put us all together, let the kids have at it, and this is what we get – lots of fun and lots of mess
*on a side note, Clint said the cookies were delish, and we only had to pick out two or three egg shells
do you have a favorite? I lose all objectivity on my own children’s pictures
Sarah F: This is HILARIOUS and SOOO cute. Wow, they are all excellent, but I think my fav is 2nd to last. Such fun moments!
kay gerber: i like the third and second to last really i like em all!!!!!
Jessica: LOL! I love the last one. :)
in the field
September 3, 2011it’s all about perspective and light – how a field of weeds can look beautiful when the sun shines behind it and there are 4 sweet little girls wearing white dresses playing in it. So soft and sweet and warm.
Kinda reminds me of how I can become beautiful too; when it’s the light of the Son shining behind me, sparkling, glowing around the edges. On the other hand, if it was a spotlight shining straight at me, directly lighting myself, it would reveal all of my imperfections, wrinkles and blemishes. It think I’ll aim for the first option
this is what it looks like when kids are just done taking pictures
