in the field

September 3, 2011

it’s all about perspective and light – how a field of weeds can look beautiful when the sun shines behind it and there are 4 sweet little girls wearing white dresses playing in it.  So soft and sweet and warm.

Kinda reminds me of how I can become beautiful too; when it’s the light of the Son shining behind me, sparkling, glowing around the edges.  On the other hand, if it was a spotlight shining straight at me, directly lighting myself, it would reveal all of my imperfections, wrinkles and blemishes.     It think I’ll  aim for the first option

this is what it looks like when kids are just done taking pictures

I think I need to preface these pictures with an apology to Jane. (mommy to Finn and Deacon)   Besides how things may appear, the boys really did have lots of fun, regardless of how one sided it may look!

a look of sheer joy

a look of sheer surprise

and just so you know that Finn wasn’t being singled out…

but little boys plus a little water equals a lot of fun!

seriously, I could just eat this kid

My oh my was this little guy a mover – he reminded me a lot of my nephew Adler – could be because they’re both three, or maybe because both boys are such cuties,  or maybe because they both seem to have a little bit of a ornery streak in them!

VBS 2011

June 12, 2011

I really look forward to taking pictures of the kindergarten kids at our church’s Bible School each year.  It’s such a fun age and the kid’s seem to enjoy being my “subjects” so it’s a win-win situation!

I know that I shouldn’t pick favorites, and I’m loving all the pictures, but I really love these first few.  These aren’t all the pictures that we took, so parents, if you’re not going for the image of your child below, there will be at least one other option for their frame.

Please contact me if you would like to order additional prints or the digital files of your child or grandchild

Tara: I love them all. You always manage to get the most natural expressions out of the kids. Great job as usuall!

admin: Thanks Tara - the kids all do such a great job

jenna: Amy. you did so so great as usual. I was just telling the other teachers today that I can't wait to have you photograph my kids when they get in that grade if you are still doing it by then. Love!

I tell you what, these Isch kiddos are going to be heart-breakers someday!

I have my wonderful sister in law to thank for introducing me to this adorable family, and also Patti and Gladys for allowing me to take pictures at their home.

When I originally started thinking about how to set up for this session, it was fun to start dreaming about soft and frilly things as opposed to swords and pirate patches.   And since I just love springtime with all it’s cheerful flowers, the almost neon green grass, and tree’s that are in full bloom, it was easy to envision how these images would turn out.   God is so good to shower the earth with such beauty and life!
