my hero

August 2, 2011

Grandma Mary went home to be with Jesus this past Saturday after a battle with ALS ( Lou Gehrig’s ).
My two year old, Cline, asked me, “Grandma sick?”  And I could honestly answer, “No buddy.  She’s in heaven with Jesus, and she will never be sick again.”

I don’t think a person could have a better Grandma.  She had this way of making sure that everyone felt loved, and would give just the sweetest, sincerest compliments.  I want to be like her when I grow up.

It’s been so neat to see the soft side of Grandpa these last few weeks too.  He took such good care of Grandma, and their love and commitment is an inspiration to me.

Looking back, I’m filled with memories of slumber parties, dancing to music on the record player, Grandma singing silly little songs like “The Little Blue Man” and “The Burger Bear”, playing her Ukulele, enjoying a bottomless candy jar at her house, “painting” the deck with water and toothbrushes, and the little silver metal cup that made the water at Grandma and Grandpa’s house taste oh so good.

My little Sunny Elizabeth with her Great-Grandma Mary Elizabeth.  I love you forever

Becky Pfister: Beautiful pictures, sweet story, and little Sunny Elizabeth's mouth looks like her great-uncle? Mark Moser's mouth. Both great people who graduated to heaven.

Jessica: What a beautiful post.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for the new CD that this very talented family is working on, or how excited I was to be able to photograph them for the cover jacket of that soon to be released CD.  These girls are all so photogenic, and Denny, you’re not half so bad yourself!
And the awesome rooftop location?  It’s actually in Bluffton.   You just need to shimmy through a 18″ wide passage way for about 10 feet, then climb up a ladder in the dark, then step out into the open air – no problem at all, and really quite an adventure.   I love my job!

jenna: LOVE these!! That family is SO talented!

I tell you what, these Isch kiddos are going to be heart-breakers someday!

I have my wonderful sister in law to thank for introducing me to this adorable family, and also Patti and Gladys for allowing me to take pictures at their home.

When I originally started thinking about how to set up for this session, it was fun to start dreaming about soft and frilly things as opposed to swords and pirate patches.   And since I just love springtime with all it’s cheerful flowers, the almost neon green grass, and tree’s that are in full bloom, it was easy to envision how these images would turn out.   God is so good to shower the earth with such beauty and life!
